Finisterre (for mom) Fall 2016
Hello:

I started my Camino in 2011 and have been doing it in 2 week stages. God willing, I will finish this year. A friend is hiking his first Camino leaving May 10th from SJPP. If I want to overlap my final stage (starting in Leon) with my friend, when should I plan to arrive in Leon -- my starting place. Any advice on coordinating walks would be appreciated.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-

This would be a guess because I have no idea what kind of walker your friend is. That said, Leon is about 70 km's past the midpoint. I would say somewhere in the range of 18-21 days.

About the best you can do is have your friend do a plan here: http://www.godesalco.com/plan/frances

Be in Leon on the friend's planned date.

Note that the planner starts in Roncesvalles, so add one to two days for your friend's start from SJPdP. If you each have a cell phone, you can cheaply make final connections using test messages.

Hello Musicagl, how exciting that you will finish your Camino and have a friend join you.

I would consider myself an average walker. When walking the Camino this last Sept, I started in St Jean and made it to Roncesvalles in one day. I arrived in Leon on day 20 and had my first rest day on day 21. There were many that took rest days before me due to illness or injury. These things are never planned. I'm sure all will work out just as they are meant to be and if you have to stay a few extra days in Leon, well it's a nice place to see.

Peace be with you and may the Lord guide your steps.

It can be done, but both you and your friend will have to be flexible. I met my niece in Sarria to walk the last bit. We did an estimate before hand, but things happen. I had to taxi ahead 20 miles to be sure I arrived the day before in order to meet her 7 AM train from Madrid. Your friend may need to take this into consideration, unless you are the one to make all of the adjustments.

Thank you to all who have replied. We think my friend is the faster walker, but 20-21 days after he starts will be the plan. Again -- thanks to all.
