Dear Pilgrims,
I don’t know what day it is, 10 maybe. It’s Sunday again. Last Sunday I was in A Guarda at the Hotel Monumento de San Benito. It was the Feast of St Benedict and there was a relic at Mass.
Each day is long and good.
Yesterday I was at the Hospederia Monasterio De Poio. Mass and Museum were breathtaking, magnificent! They are holding my small suitcase while I embark on Spiritual Variant.
I walked yesterday without a destination in mind, headed toward the Monesterio Armenteria. It was an uphill climb but I left early so not hot yet.
No room at the inn but it was early and I felt God calling me to walk on.
I walked until I reached Vilanova de Arousa. The Albergue didn’t open, my phone was dead and I knew God had a plan. I heard church bells and walked in that direction. I was pointed towards a hotel, showered and made it back for Mass.
The Feast of our Lady of Mount Carmel was at its peak, we celebrated with incense and a passionate homily.
I won’t lie, there were times when I thought where is the spa? I want a shampoo and blow out, a jacuzzi and foot massage. I have a heat rash on my legs and need a mud bath! Alas, the signs for taxis fell on deaf ears and a faithful spirit.
There was a place to stop for zorza in Gombra and a Kas limon to refresh my parched body.
