@johns - Did you receive the email on this site?

I did receive it as an e-mail to my gmail account (not via the forum). Gmail warned me (in red towards the top) and I confirmed that it was "Most likely spam", I confirmed this and it was removed from my inbox.

I would not click any links in this e-mail.

Saludos,
Ivar

Hi Ian.
I got the Email too but i guessed it was a scam so i deleted it. Im sure nobody would part with that kind of money without checking with u first.

I also got it. But an hour later, I got an email from the real Ian,
who said the email was a scam and that we should ignore it.

I got it too. Sadly, this is a very common scam. Even sadder, I suspect that there are, indeed, some well-meaning people who will respond to it. Only one person out of Ian's entire mailing list needs to respond to what is characterized as an urgent, desperate message from someone they know and respect to put 2000 pounds in the scammer's bank account.

Ian's email account has been hacked. He needs to attend to it asap.

The offending e-mail may also carry a virus, thus accessing yet another set of addresses. It has been going round church members in our area of the UK for some time. If you have opened it, or clicked on links, then a good deep virus check might be needed.

I also received one this morning... what a disgrace! DO NOT OPEN THIS EMAIL as it has a response requested. This means your email address will be distributed/sold to other unscrupulous conmen and you will be inundated with junk mail.:mad::mad:

hi i got e mail on my personal email idid not respond if any one knows of anyone sending two grand let me know they might send me some.

I too got the email but I didn't see it until sometime later as I was travelling. By the time I saw it I also had had a message from Ian, who had acted promptly and send his warning less that one hour later. I hope he soon resolves his problem as he provides a great service to us with his issuing of credentials.

Like others I also found the offending initial e-mail in my spam folder. I found it somewhat amusing that the spammer started their intro with "I brought my family over from Kiev, Ukraine....".... Hope he Ian has it all under control now.
