Camino Frances (April-may2018)
It's almost time! Camino número uno.
I've just spent the night in Madrid airport awaiting my morning connection to San Sebastián....where I'm hoping to find Correos, post 4 months of luggage to Ivar, and then pick up some final gear in town, before finally (!) making my way to St Jean Pied de Port to visit the pilgrim's office and organise remaining (and most important) details. With any luck I'll be all set for the big hill to Roncesvalles on Friday. So long awaited, and now that it is here, I am beside myself.
And grateful for all that this forum has already provided for me.
Gracias amigos.

Hola Erin
See if you can enjoy your time in Madrid. It is a very beautiful and safe city. And please, if you have a chance to visit the Retiro Park (very close to the train station) I can only imagine that you will not have any regrets. I have spent countless hours there. And you can be certain that when you arrive on the Camino it will feel like your family is there waiting for you.

Thank you John,
I have been fortunate enough to visit Madrid before. It is a lovely place!

Buen Camino Erin,

How wonderfully exciting, Erin! That first day over the hill is magical. Just take your time, enjoy the animals and the view... and be in the moment.
