The author tells that in Spain letters B and V have the same pronunciation and quotes poet Martial "The Spaniards are happy because there "vivere ist bibere" (to live is to drink).
I didn´t know that this way of pronunciation came from Roman times.
Also interesting for me is Betanzos having electric lamps in 1906.

Glad so many enjoyed this. I spent a few hours reading and tracing the route they took. I think they may have been on bicyles, which was of interest to me too. When I have more time I may try to create a map of their route just for fun and to see if the route is still viable.
