I tried the Camino in 2007 right after I retired. I thing everything failed me on that try. I must been all geared up because it was only a month after I retired. Nothing worked.
Along came 2012 and I was ready to walk the Camino again. I walked out my front door at noon on May 1st 2012 and never looked back. I gathered enough money and had someone keep an eye on my house, bought a one-way plane ticket. No pressure to walk one step or 2 million. I walked from St. Jean Pied de Port to Santiago.
Now at age 76 I want to do it one more time!
Slight problem now. I have an LVAD which means I have to carry and extra 30 pounds of hardware. I could handle that with a cart for that that. I also need a medical person around to change my dressing every two days or so. I don't want to go into all of this right now.
I am working on a lot of these issued right now and should be on the Camino soon!
