I'm starting my Camino walk in the middle of April 2016.

Time of past OR future Camino
Plan to walk Camino de Santiago April/May/June 2016.
Hi, I'm getting ready to start my Camino walk about 20th of April 2016. My Question is where should I walk the first day? I would love to walk the Route Napoleon and I would like to have Roncesvalles as a goal when i start my walk from St. Sean, Pied de Port, if it's safe. I'm open for advice, maby Roncesvalles would be a little long for a first day walk? If so any advice or recommendation of a place to stop and overnight before walking to Roncesvalles? Thanks in advance for your information putting me on the right path.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Orisson is the logical stopping point; Hounto is really not far enough along. Tens of thousands make it to Roncesvalles each year, so you probably can do it. You will need reservations at Orisson. It is usually full.

Super, Orisson will be a stopping point for sure, that should break the walk down so I don't exause myself on the first day. From where should I book a place for Orisson? can I book a place in Orisson from St. Sean, Pied de Port and is it enough to book the day before I plan to arrive at Orisson? Thank you so much.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
If you are in decent shape and the weather is nice, walk all the way to Roncesvalles.
Tens of thousands do every year. Most pilgrims do not stop at Orisson.

Thanks for your input Mark. I will most likely take an early stop at Orisson to be on the safe safe side. Luckily time is on my side, so the only reason I would walk to Roncesvalles, would be if I get of early from St. Jean, Pied de Port and very nice weather.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
