If you have a low immune system, or catch every cold or bug that goes around, it might be worth starting on Immune Boosters before you start your camino to ward off all sorts of viruses and contagious illnesses on the camino this summer. With extra large numbers of pilgrims from all over the world and overcrowding in the albergues, sports halls and tent towns, there are bound to be more bugs about than usual.
If you are, or ever have been, alergic to anything - house mites, dust, pollens, seeds, foods - take antihistamines with you just in case. You might have built up an immunity to these things at home but there is a whole new world of irritants waiting for you in a different country and you'll be out in the countryside for 75% of the time. (And don't forget, bed bugs might raise their ugly little heads again and you could be one of the unlucky ones who are allergic to their bites.)
Consider taking a two-in-one throat and nose spray. These have a mild antibiotic and will get you over the worst of a sore throat or blocked sinuses.
