Hi!!

I would like to have as much information as possible about the "Via Trajana".

Via Trajana is an alternative way between Calzada del Coto (5 km after Sahagún) and Mansilla de las Mulas.

So far I have the track of Via Trajana and I know the albergues. I would like to count with any other information about that Way that I can collect: Historical & cultural information, significant buildings, other services apart from albergues, local celebrations, etc.

If you have any source of information related with this Via, I would appreciate if you could provide me the links.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
there is a fountain with a swing in a dip about 2km before calzadilla de los hermanillos. the only one on the route that is not in one of the villages.

calzada and calzadilla have little churches. don't know of other historical building of note. the route runs across some african-style bushland, but mainly fields, and crosses a few streambeds. there are an abandoned swimming pool and an abandoned little train station on the route, if that counts. :)

You should ask the folks who own the Casa del Cura. They are not only wonderful hosts, but also full of information about the area. There is a page on their website with some information, but you'd likely get a lot more in person.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Tnx a lot!!

For sure the fountain will be useful for a lot of pilgrims!!!
And for the rest ... everything is useful!!!

You might get lucky and see the transhumance, depending on what time of the year you are walking. I spent most of the day with what seemed like thousands of sheep to one side of me, all moving with me, but just a bit slower. A very very memorable day. And they say the meseta is boring!!

My journal tells me that the day I walked with the sheep was 2 Nov 2013 :).
