Irish Catholics are reviving a traditional pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, the Irish Times reports.

A group of 29 pilgrims from Kerry embarked on a ship leaving Dingle, on Ireland's southwest coast, on May 1. Their trip by ship and on foot will bring them to the cathedral

Spain's ambassador to Ireland, José Carvajal, was on hand for the launching of the ship, and dedicated a plaque at the dock traditionally used for pilgrims' departure.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Interesting news, Sil. Will they be doing the Camino Ingles, landing in La Coruña? Way to go, from Ireland to Spain by ship, reviving the medieval tradition. Tthough I understand that Irish pilgrims would go via England? I'd love to be on that ship with them! Buen Camino to the Irish pilgrims! xm 8) PS: Wonder how Eleanor is doing?

Sailing to Spain

Ah, me hearty! This is no ordinary ship!
You have to do a short sailing course before you travel on this ship.
Take a look at her and eat your heart out!
Perhaps you could book your ticket for next year!
