Hi everyone!
Questions for those who are currently on the Puy Route. I have been told that bookings were necessary on that route. I'd like to go for 1 or two weeks starting from Le Puy in 3 days 5 I don't live very far) but I am reluctant to book anything ahead. I have done the camino frances last year and love the freedom of stopping wherever I felt like. I just need a breather and think it would be the perfect fix. I really appreciate your feedback, Buen camino, Céline

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Celine, we booked, but only one day ahead.

The French book ahead, but you do not have to. When you arrive at the end of your day, however, you may have to walk around to find a bed. Tourist offices are very helpful. "Stopping wherever I felt like" is a bit tougher on the Chemin du Puy. There are fewer accommodations. That is why the French book ahead; it saves them the end-of-day wandering. If you have booked, but change your mind, please cancel the reservation even if it is only a few hours ahead. That opens up a bed for wanderers like yourself! (And the French get really irritable about unused reservations.)

Dear fellow pilgrims! :) I hope to walk from Le Puy to Santiago later this year. I was thinking about starting at some point in august so that I manage to reach Santiago before it gets too cold...
Hey! Thinking about walking Le Puy this year. I am a solo female traveller. On my previous Camino (Spain) I stayed in municipal albergues, but this time I would like to try something...
