The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Hi! Welcome to the forum! There is a lot of great info here and knowledgeable pilgrims for you to glean info from. What a wonderful day to start a pilgrimage! It would help to know where you plan on starting from as the weather can vary extremely it seems. I will begin my first camino from St Jean in March which I am told will be very cold with snow/rain most likely. So if you can leave us a little more info you will have plenty of people to give you suggestions!
Buen Camino :)

From what I have read - you can have a choice of weather to a degree. Pyrenee chill to warmer weather away from the hills. But I guess its still winter. Enjoy. It will be wonderful.

Hi
We walked starting a couple of days after Christmas. It was very cold, although that winter was not particularly cold for Europe. You must prepare well with good claothing, and (if you are a woman) be aware that the walk is very isolated at that time - long periods of walking alone through empty countryside. No pilgrims to link up with. However, we loved it! And followed it up with a cold weather late autumn pilgrimage to Rome a couple of years later! There is a lot of information about winter walking on the forum, it would be smart to hunt around the forum threads and benefit from people's experience; if you don't do it right the weather could be quite miserable and potentially dangerous. If you would like my winter walking pack list and some hints, send me a PM.
