Various ones.
We arrived in Leon today only to find private accomodation full, something about 'oposiciones' ( for teachers) taking place today and tomorrow in Leon and next weekend as well, + somewhere in there is the feria de Leon, I did not want to stay in pilgrim accommodation today but in the end it was the pilgrim options that bailed us out. Cabinillas for us tomorrow.

Buen camino, @Isca-camigo, it’s so nice to have a steady stream of forum members on the Salvador!

I remember that former forum member Happy Penguin had a misunderstanding about the albergue in Cabanillas, so I hope you fare better, @Isca-camigo. Ender’s recommendations from the spring were that pilgrims should definitely call ahead. No guarantees anyone will be there if you just show up. Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

I had seen that it was recommended that you ring ahead on here, which we did today, they said peregrinos reception is between 4 and 6 tomorrow. We can't remember if there is cooking facilities there so might ring again in the morning just to check if there is, then we will be topping up at the giant supermercardo on the way out near the start in Leon before jumping into the river wal.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Despite our efforts me and my partner can't help ourselves,it was going to be a 7 or 8 start but after leaving the Albergue just before 10 we eventually left the cafe near the Parador at 12.
We are on the river walk near Carbajal, we have just ignored the arrows next to the bridge which take you up the road but are instead are going to follow jungle boys advice or a local we have just met who said follow the river until you see some huertos and follow a path between them until we hit bar central.
Loving the river walk it totally changes day one from a day with very nice bits onto a very good walk in total.

Albergue at Cabanillas has microwave and sink in kitchen. Has vending machines for cafe and beers and snacks. It only has 4 beds. Ring them the day before to let them know you are coming.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
The Cabinillas albergue has said above has a microwave, some plates and cups. There is two refreshment machines one which does hot drinks, tea and coffee and then a refreshment machine which serves drink mostly coca cola zero or cans of Mahou, some sweets, in addition are microwavable meals, the ones there last night were albondigas, or lasgne, (3€), you will have to supply own cutlery. They will not accept people just turning up and expecting to get in, peregrinos do need to ring in advance. When we arrived it was pouring down and was accompanied by Thunder and lighting, it would have a been a hard one for us to not respond to pilgrims turning up later in those conditions, we were under instructions to not let them in.
