Joining Camino Portugues from Porto airport?

Future Camino - Primitivo, Norte, Mozarabe
Apologies if this is covered elsewhere - I've read around and got conflicting impressions. We (myself and my wife) will be walking the Camino Portugues (Central Way) this July. We are flying into Porto airport and want to join the Camino at Moreira (we are staying in Vilarinho that night). So - can we walk from the airport to Moreira or is there public transport or should we take a taxi?

Many thanks for any advice.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The airport is very close to Moreira de Maia. Check Google Maps for the walking route out of the airport. The metro line parallels the caminho, so you can choose where to join the marked walking route. I think it will help you to find the route if you have a guidebook or map.

Many thanks. We have the Wise Pilgrim guide from Ivar but just wanted confirmation we wouldn't face having to cross a motorway by foot or something similar. As you suggest, Google Maps will be our Guide. Thanks again.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I was last sunday at the Porto Airport ,coming back from the caminho and walking into the direction of the Park hotel, just opposite the central hall I saw the first yellow waymarkers.
If you stand with your back to the entrance of the hall ,walk to the left untill you see that you easily can cross the road . You see the Parkhotel in front of you. If you follow the road there is your way to Moreiro. I think you need a good map of the area.but it is doable
Alternatives are taking the metro or a taxi . There is also a bus that goes to Maia from where it is easier to go to Moreiro.
