Just finished my first camino

Sitting in the hotel in Madrid, having just finished Leon to Santiago. Quite a nice time indeed.

Did it in 12 days - could have been 10 days without much struggle, but met so many amazing people on the way, I didn't want to run away from them. Hadn't anticipated just how many genuine friendships one could form in such a short time.

Thanks for all the advice I found lurking here. Now all I can think about is how to find the time to do a full month camino...

Congratulations!

On my first camino i met a Polish guy who was doing his 4th camino, he said to me that people who do one camino usually come back and do several more, i didnt take it in at the time, but by the end of it i realised what he was trying to say to me.

Nor me.

cmc, I keep returning to do short stretches where I can dawdle and see the things I missed on my typical SJPP to Finisterre in 2004.

Well done to you.

HI,

i am sure you'll find a way to return to the camino. after my first camino, i came back home, and bought an airplane ticket for the next one, half year later :) and nothing prevents me from going again, just my holidays... i do not have enough to go more then once in a year ... but every camino has it's calling, has it's beauty, and a reason for you to live it again and again :)

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
A friend just told me that the best way to avoid post-vacation (post-camino) blues is to have your next one planned before you finish the current one.

Works for me.
