Hey guys,

I've got an Osprey Farpoint 55 that fits well and doesn't hurt to carry at least as far as I've carried it so far.

But I've seen a lot of people who are taking much smaller bags - - Do i need to get a different backpack even tho this one I have seems good? I'm not going to pack it full, still keeping in mind packing light and I'm at about 15 pounds including pretty much everything I want to bring. I'm quite overweight, so my 10% figure is about 22 or 23 pounds but I don't want it nearly that heavy. I'm hoping to do 16 or 17 pounds completely packed.

I hate to spend more money if the one I have is already good.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
The Osprey Farpoint series is designed to be a "travel" backpack, and is not designed for real backpacking. At 3.9 pounds/1769 grams, it is also quite heavy. I would suggest a lightweight backpack designed to be worn for hiking 8 hours a day.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

It looks like a good pack.

Reviews suggest the quality is less than optimal.

Its better to have a bag that is a bit roomy so that you don't end up with seams and zippers popping when you overstuff it.

If it carries your gear and its comfortable ... go with it.

Fit and familiarity is by far what's most important, and if it fits you well, go with it, it's not huge and cinches down a bit as well. As others have said, just resist the temptation to over pack just because you have a little extra space!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
