Kids on the Camino

Are there many kids on the route. thinking of driving most of it I admit, walking just the last 100km - are the people tolerant of possible noisy children (not worried about their fitness we fell walk). Also any ideas of child friendly stop off points on the last 100km, guessing the pilgrim auberges won't be child friendly and no way we can carry the tent.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I encountered two family groups with small children. They stayed in hostals/hotels/pensions rather than albergues. Children could be very disruptive to their dormitory roommates, but everyone along the trail is extremely friendly. I did not see any rules about children in albergues. Hospitaleros may just make up the rules as they go along, and admit or deny children on a whim. There were many signs indicating "no dogs."

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
All depends on which reason the adult has to do the Camino... On the Frances I met a lady in her late thirties with her son of ten years old. Young boy was very well behaved and polite. They used albergues and hostales/ pensiones. The lady had some emotional issues that she wanted to solve and I regularly saw her " lost in her thoughts " and contemplating. I couldn't help but to feel a bit sorry for the young boy. He had to behave too grown up for his age. ( Again my personal opinion as a social worker ). Kids should stay kids as long as possible...

But I also saw, especially last 100 k, family groups getting into a gentle and slow rythm where everyone enjoyed themselves.
