Kindness in Lavacolla

On Tuesday, the lovely man selling wirework sculptures just below the Lavacolla Cathedral noticed I wasn’t well. It was day 57 of walking for me and after all that time, overcoming multiple obstacles, I didn’t want to take a bus or taxi because I was SOOO close to Santiago. He had a long heart to heart talk with me and I agreed to catch the bus to Monte de Gozo. I was sicker than I realized and won’t go into detail but ended up needing medical care a couple days later.

I don’t know if he speaks English but if anyone is passing through Lavacolla in the next few days, sees him and is comfortable saying thanks from “La peregrina de EEUU” who he convinced to “coger el autobus” it would mean a lot to me. I want him to know I’m well, in part because of his kindness and understanding. I’d go back myself but am still weak and leave Spain on Monday.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

So hard on those last few days...something similar happened to us on our first Camino and due to kindnesses shown to us by complete strangers looking out for our welfare, I felt the Camino's gift for the first time in 45+ days of walking. Be well!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

I think the man in Lavacolla sent you a message from angels.
Angels can’t talk so that they let someone or something to protect you.
That’s what I learned in my first Camino 2016.
I met a young Canadian lady who had got a message from angels told me so.
You were lucky that you heard the voice and accepted it.🍀😇🍀
Wish you a safe journey back home and take a good care of yourself.❤️😇❤️
