km stones - where are the last 12km?

Just before O Cebreiro, crossing the Galicia border, every 500m there is km stone starting from 151,5km. Sometimes it s every km, sometimes there is a gap.
The last 12km, in fact the most important ones, seems to be missing. The last I noticed was before the airport track, I think it was 12,6km.
What happened with the 24 last km stones?

They went home as souvenirs. We have a blue and yellow chonch on our house too, but we had the decency to buy it, not chip it from a post.

These concrete poles weigh far too much to take them home.
And think of the process of digging them out and hauling them in a back-pack big enough without being seen...

Well they weren't there in 1998 so I guess we need to start knocking on the doors of some of our very veteran posters to ask for them back.

Uhhmm, sil, can I ask, how many are there in you're back garden? :lol:

If you do the Camino Inglés you will find that there are some km posts on that route within the city boundaries.

Personally I was glad to see the back of them.

What happened with the 24 last km stones?

I suspect a fair number are under the runway. I'm sure it's that runway that makes the last '12' kms a lot more than 12, it felt more anyway.
