Cool socks!! I'm hoping to do some knitting along the way, too, and right now socks are my specialty (mostly because they are one of the only things I know how to knit, along with dish cloths and scarves)!
I noticed you knit a shell into them - How cute! And how would I figure out how to do something like that? Somewhat of a novice, here...

Nigel!! FAB socks! I've already forwarded a link to your blog to my knitting-Nazi friend! SHe's tossing about the idea of joining me for part of my camino this summer, but we Yanks have so little vacation time, I'm afraid she may not be able to make it. But she might be inspired to knit me some socks for my August birthday!
A question for you, though: you said that you and Geordie walked in 2004? That was a Holy Year. Did you find it chaotic? Too crowded? ANy advice? I am going June 12-July 12 (or thereabouts) this year. ANd I am a tad anxious. ANy reply would be appreciated!
Happy 2010!
Nancy
