Hi everybody
I was preparing everything over the last days as i'm leaving and arriving tomorrow to SJPP in the mid afternoon probably.
I took into account all your advices but I forgot to book and accommodation. I tried this morning to write to some albergues without any luck....

should I be able to find something on arrival tomorrow ? are there cheap options available (around 15 euros)

many thanks for your answer !!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I would suggest going to the pilgrim office in SJPdP. They will likely have information about availability.

Otherwise book a room online ... though thats going to be at least 50 euro.

If you end up with the situation where you may end up in SJPdP late evening with no reservation I would suggest stopping early in Bayonne or wherever and continuing on early the next day.

tagos25,

In Saint-Jean the Pilgrim office of the Amis du Chemin de Saint Jacques at 39 rue de la Citadelle stays open for the arrival of the last train. Their telephone is 05 59 37 05 09. In season the pilgrims office is open from 7h30 to 12h30 and then from 13h30 to 22h. They can provide you with a Credential and lodging assistance. If their albergue is full they will help you find other pilgrim lodgings when you are on site. They keep up to the minute lists of all available space throughout the SJPdP area. By the way the station in St Jean is miniscule and closes for the night after the last train arrives.

Good luck and Buen Camino,

Thanks a lot to both of you for the advice !

50 euros is way out of my budget, therefore my only chance is to try to have luck at the Pilgrim office and to find a cheap post

can't wait to be there, thanks again for your help !

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles

My friend and I arrived in SJPP without any reservations last June. The pilgrims office stamped our credentials , showed us the albergue right next to the pilgrims office that was not full. And if I remembered right cost us 15 euros ea including the next day's breakfast. Down the road there were more albergues. The Pilgrim's office really do a good job at helping peregrinos. So don't worry & have a Buen Camino.
