Last Minute Decision to Walk!! :)))

Hello all! So excited for my last minute venture to Europe!!! From the States, I am headed to Nuremberg Germany where I will spend a month with family. I do not have anything written in stone, since this was a very last minute trip, but I was planning to walk the Camino Mid May, and since I am not super prepared, only for 7/8 days.
I came here to see if others are walking at that same time? Also, to ask a few questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated! SO PUMPED!!!

Do you think it is too late to plan my walk? Since I am only doing a portion of the walk, I was thinking the first 7 days would be best?

What is the best way to get from Nuremberg to St Jean? I have read it is best to go to Bayonne, and then travel from there?

Anyone else walking at this time?

I am so excited! Although it has not been preplanned, I know this is the right time, I feel it!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Cogratulations on your plan. If you want to walk bout seven days you might consider doing the last 100 km to Santiago. That way you will be able to get the cetificate of officially having completed the pilgrimage. Good luck!

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
Bayonne to SJPP would be the best bet I'd think. I'm doing Utrecht --> Paris --> Bayonne early June.

I think to walk the early stages is a good idea, particularly if you're planning to return and continue at another time. Many people do the Camino in stages by just starting again where they finished last time.
Buen Camino

Hi tcareccia!

Sounds like a great trip, and it would be great to leave your return flight open so you could extend your walk if you wish and have time. I recently walked the 10 days or so between Pamplona and Burgos. When I went to the bus station in Burgos to go to Valladolid airport I found that the bus no longer ran and I missed my flight. It was great, because I didn't really want to go home, so I caught up with my Camino family and walked on to Santiago.

Buen Camino!
