Monasp

I'm a manager of pilgrims office in SJPP
Time of past OR future Camino
Camino in 2008.
The present crisis that has hit the world - and Spain in particular - means that the pilgrimage trails / paths of Santiago de Compostela in this country are totally inaccessible at this moment .

For how long ? Only God and St James can know this ! Probably , for quite some time .
Our Pilgrims' Welcome Office in ST JEAN PIED DE PORT has been closed since 17th Mars .

Despite this , we are , by no means , inactive and we are following up the situation very closely . In effect , the re-opening of our Welcome Office will be dependent on the general health situation in Spain , on the decisions taken by their authorities and also on the functioning of their various accommodation-oriented structures (albergues (dormitory hostels) , refuges , restaurants etc) . In reality , it is the Spanish authorities who will give us the " green light " to send on the pilgrims to the
PORTS DE CISE (over the Pyrenees) .

On the order of the CONSEJO JACOBEO and upon the initiative of the AMCS ( (Spanish) Municipalities' Association of Camino de Santiago) , a (working) group (Grupo Viatoris del Camino) has been formed , comprising representatives of associations , autonomous communities ( Euskadi , La Rioja , Castilla y Leon Galicia , Aragon ) , the Spanish federation of Santiago de Compostela asociations , as well as our own (French) association (Amis du Chemn de St Jacques de Compostelle Pyrénées Atlantiques.

This group communicates on-screen , by video-conference , to highlight and discuss the various problems brought about by the current crisis and to plan the future of the pilgrimage trails .
At the request of Madame Annie Cardinet (President of the French Federation of Santiago de Composela associations) and supported by Mr José Torguet (President of Santiago de Compostela association of Gradignan) and also by Mr Jacques Chauty (President of Association Compostelle 2000 n Paris) , our association has been entrusted to report all the (Spanish trail) information to the FFACC
(French Federation) .

We thus advise you to consequentially fully inform your own members andcompatriots - who intend going on the Santiago de Compostela trails within the next few weeks - on the access conditions in Spanish territory .
In order to help you in this respect , we will keep you informed , on a regular basis , on the development of the general situation .
In the meantime , take care of yourselves and all those dear to you ! ( translated by Chris Pitter )

Annie Cardinnet ( Présidente Fédération Française des Ass. des chemins de St Jacques)
José Torguet (Président :Ass. Amis du chemin de St Jacques Gradignan)

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

The attachment to the original post is completely black/blank for me. Does anyone else have this problem? [/QUOTE said:

Does anyone have current information about the Le Puy en Velay to Cahors part of the GR65 in France ? I walked Cahors to St Jean Pied de Port last year, sharing room with a friend. Wonderful experience, and had been looking forward to doing this section this September. In a wait and see mode. And a long way to swim from NZ !

It's walkable starting today, provided that you are already in France. Much of the hostelry might be closed, but it too can open a bit more normally starting today.

Entering the country though is still complicated and will remain so 'til June 15th ; and then the list of countries outside of Europe that you will be able to travel from into France is still an unknown.
