Lisbona + camino between Porto and Santiago

Hi, this summer I'll have two weeks of holiday from work (the first two weeks of July) and I'd like to do the camino. It would be the first time I do the camino di Santiago.

I've mocked up this planning (probably from 1st July 2017 to 15th July 2017)

• Day 1 => Plane from Venice to Lisbon
• Day 2 => Visit of Lisbon
• Day 3 => Bus from Lisbon to Porto
• Day 4 => Camino from Porto to S. Pedro de Rates. 20 Km
• Day 5 => Camino from S. Pedro de Rates to Barcelos e Tamel. 27 Km.
• Day 6 => Camino from from Tamel to Ponte de Lima. 26 Km.
• Day 7 => Camino from Ponte de Lima to Rubiaes 18 Km.
• Day 8 => Camino from Rubiaes to Tui. 20,4 Km.
• Day 9 => Camino from Tui to Porrino. 17,6 Km.
• Day 10 => Camino from Porrino to Redondela. 16,7 Km.
• Day 11 => Camino from Redondela to Pontevedra. 18,4 Km.
• Day 12 => Camino from Pontevedra to Caldas de Reis. 24 Km.
• Day 13 => Camino from Caldas de Reis to Padron. 18,3 Km.
• Day 14 => Camino from Padron to Santiago de Compostela. 24 Km.
• Day 15 => Plane from Santiago to Venice

My questions about it are:

• How may days I have to count between Porto and Santiago? The are several blogs where I read that it takes between 8 and 12 days.
• With 14-15 days is it a good idea to walk the portughese camino or it should be better to walk the final 200km of the french one? As I said it would be my first time.
• is it a good idea to visit Lisbon or should be better to take a plane Venice - Porto and start immediately the camino. If I arrived too early I could continue to Finisterre and then came back to Santiago to take the plane. I mean, I could go to Lisbon in the future but maybe I will never have again the opportunity to walk between Santiago and Finisterre.

Hi, your plan looks perfect to me!

On average, it’s about 10 days from Porto to Santiago.

The Portuguese Camino will not be as busy as the Camino Francés in July (but still busy enough that you will meet lots of other people).

Lisbon is a great city to visit, and you have the exact amount of time to include it at the beginning. The Camino Francés and Finisterre will always be there for another time, when you have longer. Something to look forward to! And your plan above is a perfect introduction to the camino.

Stick to your plan. Lisbon is great; was there last week ( city break), as is Porto.
I walked it in 2013; loved it.
Much better Camino than the last section of the Frances

Go for it. Porto-SdC is an excellent first camino. I needed a week for Lisbon and surroundings, though. You have an alternative: the train from Lisbon to Porto. Easier to strech your legs in the train and you see plenty. Bom caminho!
