Hi everyone,
I have been searching the site, but haven't been able to find a topic that just has listings of people's pilgrim blogs (all in one place)

How about sending replies here with your blog URL here so we can all easily find and read each other's Camino stories?

Mine is: http://www.caminopilgrimage.blogspot.com

I'd love to read yours!
Suzanne

PS, if there is a topic for this on the site already, can someone let me know?

Re: List your pilgrim blog URL Here - we want to read your stori

If you have a Blogger account you can start here with my Via de la Plata blog:
http://viamermaid.blogspot.com/2008/05/ ... start.html

If you don´t you can access it through my myspace page:
http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... D=67507452
and start with "A Little Hop to Sevilla". Then it will take you to blogger without having to open an account.

As I sit here, nursing this ankle (which thank you it IS getting better and I will be back on the Via hopefully by next week) it gives me time to put up all my blogging online. I am enjoying reading alot of other people´s blogs,
Love Love Love (the Via)

Thanks Ivar and ksam. I'm in Santiago now, staying at the Melia Arneguary (I think that's what it's called.) I got into the city on Friday evening, and I'm still exhausted and still trying to think through the last month. Mostly, though, I just wish I had another 800km to walk.

Re: List your pilgrim blog URL Here - we want to read your stori

You could always walk back to SJPdP. ;) Anyway, your blog had me in stitches too. Great writing & congratulations on getting to Santiago!

Well, we've finally written up our journal from last year,

and might manage to do some en route this year, but probably more in retrospect afterwards.

I feel a bit shy, giving the address here for all to see!

A great read Bridget..... I had a quick look-see and will be back for more later!!! Great to read it from a cyclists' point of view, on an 'earlier' part of the route.

Hi Everyone

Gen and I walked from St-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Logrono in April this year but we were forced to suspend our journey due to a bad knee injury. Gen is recovering from knee surgery and will remain at home in Australia while I attempt to complete the Camino Frances.

Hi,
I have just managed to get a travel blog opened and have made my first entry. My grammar is quite bad and I apolise for this. Even though it is a bit embarasing I will still write in my blog - my travel details and add photos as often as I can so my frinds and family can see them and know what I am upto.
I have even managed to put in a photo I took the other day and have my next entry ready with photos of my Pilgrim Backpack Items.

Hi Suzanne,
The other day in that beautiful pilgrim church Op Hodenpijl between The Hague and Rotterdam I met the artist Mrs. Joke Koele ( http://www.ophodenpijl.nl/activiteiten/ ... Joke_Koele ) who's exhibiting her spiritual drawings there this month. She explained how her art showes a way into the inner self. I told her what makes me tick on this forum and then -without hesitation- Mrs Koele said: That way you'll have to go alone! At first I thought: How can that be?, but then slowly some questions disappeared. She gave me a card with one of her drawings saying: Allow yourself that one way. It will take you anywhere.
Enjoy!

I have just started putting together a pilgrim blog, it's in Swedish though but maybe someone might have some use for it. I have a page of walking quotes in English for inspiration.
The pictures and youtube music videos ought to be universal!
We intend to update it while we are on the road, mainly because my two sons (9 and 15) will be spending 3 weeks with their father (we are divorced) and hopefully we will be able to let them know what we are up to. I'm hoping it will be possible to post some pictures along the way, does anyone here have experiences of that?

Michael (lanval) thank you so much for your blog, I read through all the way to Burgos (our final destination this year) your wonderful pictures and colorful descriptions made it feel as if I was already there. I loved the picture of the café con leche and cheese boccadillo, you could almost taste it! Very useful to see the pictures of all kinds of different paths and road surface, good to know what your shoes and feet need to cope with.
Your link to the Camino Planner was very useful too!

Hi Kelly, thank you so much for the link to your blog! I just started reading and will now sit down with a cup of tea and some dark chocolate to enjoy the rest of it just as I would a good novel!

Loved your colourful description of Beza and the BGT2s, and as my 15 year old son would describe it: I was "ROFL" (rolling on the floor laughing) while reading the post "NO VINO POR LOS PEREGRINOS!!"

yeah, I was pretty pissed off that day....it had been a real slog getting to the wine fountain...I don't care if it's low-rent wine, I just wanted it as a reward for not killing myself to get there. ;)

Kelly

Actually, Kelly, they have another way of making sure the early birds in the morning don't get any wine either. They turf you out of the municipal albergue in Estella by 7.15am. And they serve breakfast at some crazy hour before that- can't remember exactly when but maybe it was 6.15am. Then the wine fountain isn't actually serving wine until 8am. So the whole crowd from the municipal albergue has pretty much gone by before the wine begins to flow!!!
Margaret

PS I am not even a wine drinker but I had to laugh at the joke of it all

The savvy ones I walked with went over in the afternoon after getting a bed in Estella. Plenty of wine!

Hi Everyone:

I am enjoying everyone's blogs and am in the process of designing my own for my Camino in April/May '10. I would appreciate any experience you could share relative to blogging while actually on the Camino.

First, how easy it to blog while actually on the Camino? Are computers accessible and do you need to bring yoru own cable to upload pictures from your camera?

Second, did any of you find it to disruptive mentally to being into the Camino? Can it reasonably fit into the logistics of the day?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Be alert using computers in Spain. If you plug anything into a USB port, you may be at risk when you connect that device to something else. Photo cards have been reported as corrupted by public computers, and flash drives can carry viruses home to your computer there. Computers in libraries and albergues may be the most secure. Internet centers and bars probably are the most risky. I used computers that had months of history and cookies. Programs that capture your passwords should be expected.

Details are not available yet, but the following current event is about computer fraud operating out of Spain.

There are an awful lot of other photos...

Also - Rachel - your blog is fantastic, I read it a while back and I loved your honestly, especially the being grumpy on the way into Santiago bit! :D

Yours, Sil's, J. Walker...yours are on the list of very informative and enjoyable! Looking forward the next chapter.

well here is my blog from this year, 2010 StJPP to Santiago. Its still a work in progress as there are some entries still in the draft stage:

and here's my daughter's. Apparently there were those back home that were getting a kick out of the contrasts. She doesn't have as many entries, as her friend joined her the last two weeks and greatly distracted her, after she woke up from her afternoon siestas!

Hey all,

I walked from St Jean to Finisterre from September 28-November 1 (2010), but just now feel the urge to share my pics, which you can find here:

https://picasaweb.google.com/1047289881 ... D8o_TC2wE#

I should note ahead that after finishing walking, I went from Santiago to meet my friend in Madrid. We traveled to Valencia, Barcelona, and Zaragoza, before returning to Logrono. From Logrono I took a bus back to Puente la Reina and walked from there back to St Jean. Basically I had some time to kill before catching my flight from CDG back to Canada. So I walked to St Jean and actually continued to Ostabat before turning around and walking back to St Jean again (I think the amis were tired of seeing me by that point lol). Anyway all of my pics are there from Paris-St Jean-Santiago-Finisterre-Madrid- Valencia-Barcelona-Zaragoza-Longrono, and walking again from Puente la Reina-St Jean-Ostabat-St Jean. So, sorry if they are overly-plentiful, but enjoy!

Thanks for posting your pics. They are a lovely reminder and a little dig in the ribs to get going again.

Video Journal of the Camino Frances - October 2010

I did the Camino Frances in October 2010. I don't think I am exaggerating to say it was life changing. The people I met and things I saw were amazing. But perhaps most of all it was just the month I had without any big decisions. My only decisions each day were where should I stop to eat, and where should I stop to rest. I miss it :)

I kept a video journal over the 28 days. Please feel free to check it out and let me know your thoughts: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p ... A93F2F18FF

Hi Wilbox,

First of all, I would like to say you have amazing taste in music. If you are not already, do consider a career in editing; this is one of the most interesting documentary about the Camino I have seen. You've made me laugh out loud and cry. Maybe it's because we are about the same age but it really touched me seeing both the caramaderie (sp?) and the introspective aspect of the walk.

Thank you for making my evening as it 10Pm here in Québec. I'm now even more anxious to start my Camino on May 13 and that's saying a lot.

I have to say, I really wasn't sure if I should make the video, or even upload it, as it is kind of difficult to convey what the Camino meant to me (a few friends questioned why I would walk across Spain!?!). But after your very kind comments, I'm really glad that I did. Many thanks for taking the time to watch it, and letting me know your thoughts.

To those about to embark on it this year - have a great time, and look forward to hearing your own stories when you get back :)
