some and then more. see my signature.
Just back from the opening of a local exhibition about the Camino to Compostela.
Volunteers put it all together : pictures, books ...They even made a mini Cruz de Ferro.
This will be a temporary display parallel with the " Kroningsfeesten " : the Coronation Celebrations that are taking place every seven year in the beautiful city of Tongeren.
These celebrations really are a community thing : 3000 citizens out of 30000 actively participate in these Celebrations.

Tongeren is also on the Via Limburgica, the Camino that comes from Holland and ends in Roccroi in the north of France. Tongeren is a beautiful city, the oldest of our country.

So if you are in the neighbourhood this sunday : always welcome. I will be volunteering at the exhibition then :).

Thank you Fraluchi. I would not say that Tongeren is very catholic because secularism is very dominant in this country , like in the rest of Western Europe.
But the Coronation Celebrations still are very much embedded in catholic traditions. And of course something that unites people together in this kind of community spirit is a good thing.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
Hi Sabine,
Thanks for the tip...looks interesting. I'll plan a visit to Tongeren on Sunday.

And what a nice surprise meeting you Marc!
Thank you so much for your visit. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Tongeren.
Was great to meet you too Sabine! I enjoyed the presentation about the different camino's... and of course Tongeren is a pleasant town to visit.
