In the past week I have been reading in the news about the so called 15th May Movement, a week of protests which started in Madrid and has spread to 58 cities. Leading up to the municipal elections, the Spanish youth is expressing its dissatisfaction with the current Spanish political system and the high unemployment rate, through a series of peaceful demonstarations.

I was just wondering if any Spanish forum members could give me any more information. Although the demonstrations were due to end on the 22nd May, and have thus been ''peaceful'', they have been compared to those in Egypt and Greece, which became progressively more violent. I have read that Pamplona and Burgos were involved. Starting my pilgrimage from St Jean Pied de Port on 29th May, should I expect to encounter any demonstrations along the way?
Getting excited/nervous now! Peter
