Walked entire Camino Del Norte from Irun to Santiago in 40 days (late June-early Aug. 2019)
Hola Peregrinos,
I am 2 days away from Santiago and managed to lose my glasses at the last albergue. Has anyone else had this issue and wondering if anyone bought new glasses in santiago and have recommendations.
Gracias!
Dave

Assuming that they have been found, it will probably be cheaper to take a bus back from Santiago to collect them - or perhaps the albergue can post them to Santiago?

If you're just looking to buy a cheap-ish new pair:

Groupon offer - valid at Central Optica Orfas
Santiago de Compostela: Rúa das Orfas, 1.
Teléfono: 981 574 517

Vision lab -
Rúa de Santiago de Chile, 10, 15701 Santiago de Compostela

FIRST, ask at the Pilgrim Office. Lost stuff found along the Camino is dropped off all the time. You might get lucky.

Remember that St. James works in mysterious ways...

If this fails, the above ideas are sound. It would help if you could get a copy of your prescription send to you by email.

I carry a copy of my current eyeglass prescription stored as a .pdf file on my iPhone. I have the Adobe Acrobat app, so I can print it out, or provide it for an optometrist to view.

Hope this helps.

If they are prescription lenses, just contact the albergue and arrange to somehow get reunited with them - a taxi works, in a pinch, but they could post them to the pilgrim's office.
If they're just readers, any pharmacia will have those (I'm wearing a pair I got in Santiago from a pharmacia on on Rua San Roque).
Otherwise search for opticians or use the links that @Raggy just posted.

Gracias, todos amigos!
My glasses were found by the albergue staff that afternoon and returned to me by taxi (the 25€ Taxi service was well worth getting them back!). Thank you for your help!
