Yes, other pilgrims will benefit! I'm reading this forum today, trying to figure out which service to use on some days (maybe even from here on) as I'm finding my knees are having a harder time than I thought they would. Jacotrans envelopes and information have been at the front desk in some albergues. Someone also mentioned a "mochilla express" which I haven't seen listed in this forum, so I wonder if it's new.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
The Spanish postal service also offer baggage transfer - and I think a bit cheaper. There's a website about it somewhere ..... here it is

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Thanks Kanga, that's very helpful.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Yes, thank you! That reminded me to pull out then bookmark I had seen about that. The website says 4 Euros if you book 5 or more stages. 5 Euros for a one off. And you can arrange things by email. I was unclear, earlier, if they only delivered to specific "stage" locations, but the site says they deliver to anywhere.

Late October 2015 after falling I used the Correos transport for my pack from Najera to Santo Domingo de La Calzada. The cost was 4 euros and the service was great. You can book via your smartphone/ text message. See more at http://www.elcaminoconcorreos.es/ ...Too bad that they could not carry me along with the pack!

So...I JUST booked with the postal service. The told me that from León to Santiago the price is 52 Euros for the whole thing--as many stages as you want to take, whatever distance you want each day. And you don't have to have it all planned in advance. You just write the new destination for that day on the tag on the bag for when they pick up at 8:00. From the tracking number your bag gets, well, they already know where they dropped it off the day before, to come back for it the next morning.

I could have booked other options, just 5 stages (4 Euros each) or just one, but I already know I've been having a hard time walking, if this frees me up to walk more and with less pain or not create new problems then that is worth it.

Oh, and I arranged everything by email. I think they responded within 15 minutes to each of my emails.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
The problem I see with the Postal Service is that you must pick your items up at the post office, right?
Or do they deliver to the place you're staying?

I love Caminofacil.
You can book them online and if you decide to change your route, you can change online.
You can pay up front and be done with it, which is nice.

Annie,

The Correos picks up from and delivers to wherever you are staying. No need to go to the post office. They offer a very good reliable transport system along nine Spanish caminos listed on their bilingual site, www.elcaminoconcorreos.es. Elsewhere in Spain they ship from the post offices.

Jacotrans has been around for a while, and the Correos now wants to take their business now that the demand has been established by them. Rather than let predatory pricing by the government drive Jacotrans out of business, consider rewarding the ones who have shown interest in the Camino for a decade. :)

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Yes, they ship to where you are staying. Yesterday my bag was there when I got there. I assume it will be the same today and following. I'm just letting them know my destination each day--written on my bag in the morning. Not sure if I could change it that day spur of the moment if I needed to. I think I generally should be able to judge what I want to or will do in a given day. The only time I'll need to specifically notify is if I'm taking a rest day somewhere, because right now they are set to always pick up the next day from where they dropped it off the night before.

Oh, but there are private companies, well...one, but I won't name it, who at one point was, and may still be at it, blackmailing albegues telling them that if them handed enveloppes from their competitors to pilgrims it would no longer drop off bags at their albergue. So if the Spanish postal service, who has a nearlynbankrupted employer (the State) and many employees to keep paying wages to unless it wants to put them on welfare, I am not sure I would jump to conclusions about the value of protecting the entrepreneurs over the State without really knowing who one is really supporting with one's business.

Funny, I don't think I have ever heard people say "Don't stay in the Xunta albergues, they are hurting private business."
