Mailing suitcase to Santiago

I won't bore you with the details, but after a heart attack felled me close to El Burgo Ranero in September 2007 and put me into Hospital de Leon for a week and from there, home to Vancouver Island in Canada, my wife and I are ready to resume our Camino in June of this year.
We will be flying into Madrid, where we will take a train to Sahagun and thence to El Burgo Ranero.
Two questions:
1) I know we can get a train to Sahagun, but does any kind soul know if we can get a train or bus from Sahagun to El Burgo Ranero?
2) We want to send a small suitcase from Sahagun or El Burgo Ranero to Santiago. Does anyone have any info. re: mailing, costs and whether the suitcase can be held in Santiago until we arrive?

sorry you had such a rough time before, but hats off to you for coming back to give it another go! You can get from Sahagun to Burgo Ranero on the regional trains going to Leon, there are three every day, I think. But it´s probably cheaper and more convenient just to get a taxi, as the El Burgo train station is a long way from the village proper.

As Rebekah mentioned I am about to start the "Camino Travel Center" in Santiago de Compostela, and one of my services will be luggage storage. This means that you can mail your bag to me and I will store it for you. I am waiting for the paperwork to go through to get my license, hopefully within the next few week I will be open for business.

As for shipping cost, have a look at prices if you use the post office:

An alternative would be to use another shipping service like UPS for example:

The post office has in general the best prices.

I'm sure your camino will be wonderful this time!
Do remember that the Correos in Santiago say that they will only keep your suitcase for 14 days - not the 30 days that they used to.
