Making a photo wall of your camino - or how to remind yourself of your camino every day

Meet our hall - we revisit our Camino Frances (left) and Camino Portugues (on right side of the door) every time we go in or out

This is how we did it

• Get your best photos printed - and laminate them (we also write the place of them on the backside - easier when replacing them)
• Borrow a projector and find some good images of the route - and use a regular pencil to draw the map on the wall (then it's easy to erase too) while someone is holding the projector and it is connected to a PC!
• We made little o's where the central cities are - and made the city names with a Dymo
• Use stickytape to tape the photos to the wall! We've ended up using the brand APLI White Tack as it doesn't run down the wall after a year or two...
• ...and the photos follow the route, i.e. photos from Burgos is near Burgos on the wall

Just for inspiration! Have fun if you do something similar - it was fun for us!

I have a small wall - it's in fact a sort of a carpet made of thin reeds - in the living room above the table fixed to the side of a book closet. on it I secured a thin pale rope in a wavy line representing the camino, and along it I hung postcards on paper clips. that way I can replace them when I want. it looks neat, I think.

two caminos were fortunate enough to become a photobook.

all of them ended in one or other of my lectures about caminos.

but then there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of my past caminos (or plan new ones).

What a fab idea..as we are in the process of finally being able to start looking for our next abode. ... I. E. Bungalow. ..they usually have one if those long hallways! Perfect!

Another approach, perhaps more suitable to those lacking enough wall space, is to use a digital photo frame. You load your photos to the frame using a USB "thumb drive" or SD memory card. Then the drive displays your photos. Depending on the model of your photo frame, you can determine how the photos are displayed.

Personally, although my home is some 220 square meters, I lack sufficient walls to accommodate the 2,500 photos I took on my first Camino, and the thousands I have accumulated on the subsequent pilgrimages. I should also note that my long suffering and ever-patient wife (she does not do Camino with me) would not tolerate coloring on the walls.
