Camino Frances: September 24 - October 31 (2015)
It’s a year away, but I’m already updating my packing list and ordering small items for my next Camino. Knowing that I will walk again, and when that will be, is enough for me right now. This Camino addiction certainly is tough to explain to those that haven’t walked it. My wife is supportive though. We are combining this Camino with an extended stay in Paris, one of our favorite cities on earth. I will walk on my own, but we will be together in Paris. Last time I walked was Sept/Oct of 2015. Any words of wisdom comparing a Fall Camino Frances with a Spring version?

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

I've walked the Camino twice, both times in their Spring, so I can't compare with September. The first time in 2014 we left St Jean at the end of April. The weather was mixed, some hot, some cold, even snow at the Cross towards the end of May. The weather is very changeable. Every where was green, with wildflowers blooming, not brown like photos I've seen of summer and autumn on the Camino. Very busy around May Day but not so much until Sarria in late May/early June.
In 2016 we left 7th April. Snow at Roncesvalles, rain pretty much throughout the 5 weeks. Fewer people. Still green, but as Spring was 'late' there were few flowers walking up to the cross for example.
Loved both walks. Will be back this year leaving St Jean 7th May.

Thanks for the info. I’m looking forward to seeing the CF at a different time of year. A green Meseta will be a sight.

Can some one direct me, to a list showing when Albergues are open?

Specifically.... I want to start my Camino Frances on March 15, 2019.... what is open?

I have been looking, and the answer I get is often confusing.
Example... An Alburgue's website says it's open all Winter, but (when you read further) it says it only opens for 8 or more people, who call two days in advance.
Many website don't mention whether they are open or not.
