Mass times in Samos or Sarria

We will be staying at Casa de Diaz in Samos on a Saturday night, then moving on to the Rectoral de Goian near Sarria on Sunday.

Does anyone know or have a source of info on Catholic mass times either early on Sunday in Samos or later in the day near the Rectoral?

I would appreciate any guidance to help in our planning.

Thank you and Buen Camino!

Ceci,

The Pilgrim Office of the Cathedral of Santiago show a multi language website >>
http://www.peregrinossantiago.es/ Click to their Preparation page for a useful English discussion regarding Mass on the Camino >> http://peregrinossantiago.es/eng/preparation/mass-on-camino/. Once on the Preparation page click again to see a Map of all churches on the Camino which have daily masses. Created 2010/updated 2012 in Google maps this map will appear in a separate widow entitled Parroquias de los Caminos de Santiago. The map lists opening times for the churches and gives the current mass times as of 2012.

For current 2014 info why not simply ask your host when you arrive at your lodging for the night!!

Buen Camino,

Margaret Meredith

I was in Sarria a couple of weeks ago and the albergue Monasterio La Magdalena has mass every day at 2000.

Buen Camino,

Margaret Meredith

Thank you so much for the info on masses. I'm just trying to figure out whether I should hang on in one place for mass or move along to make it to the next place in time. Thanks for the links. Perhaps the Camino is different, but I have found in other places in Spain where I have stayed, no matter how close they were to a church or how many years they had been there, they did not seem to have much helpful information about mass times. Best to go to the source, I guess.

I really appreciate all your help, Margaret Meredith. You have helped my planning so much in so many ways. I hope that we might meet someday on the Camino.

Buen Camino to all.

Thank you for all the specifics - this is great! No excuse for my missing mass on the Camino. Thanks so much. This is so thoughtful and so helpful. I appreciate the effort it took to put this together.

If I may ask, or get clarification on the mass schedules:

would the daily (diario) mass schedule also include the saturday vigil mass?

Thank you.

If you have a smartphone, download the app Misas.org. It has church ⛪locations and Mass times for nearly every church in Spain. Also, it is free.

Hope this helps.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

@Alexla , I think the posted schedules on misas.org and other sites include whatever information is provided by the parishes. It may not always be up to date. But if there is a vigil mass, I would expect they would include it in the submission.

Most masses along the Camino are in the evening, anyway. My understanding is that any mass celebrated after dusk is actually a vigil mass for the following day, simply by virtue of its time. But I am not a litugist!

The original question about Samos and Sarria-Santiago was posted a few years ago. But here is a list put out by the Diocese of Lugo, valid through October 2018 for anyone currently making plans. 20180817_094600.jpg20180817_094610.jpg
