I met Ivar at the Camino Travel Centre about 4 weeks ago and enjoyed a pleasant chat with him and I encourage forum members to do the same. I was very surprised to hear from him that only about 2 or 3 others had come in to say hello, given the number of forum members.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Since there's no more kissing the statue of St. James, let's start a tradition of kissing Ivar! :p

This spring we had finished walking the Camino de Madrid and were hanging out in Santiago trying to figure our how to get up to Ferrol to walk the Ingles. We found our way to Ivar's office (very nice, by the way), and Ivar was very helpful. More than that, it was just great to meet the man who keeps this awesome forum going. Thanks Ivar!!

So yes, let's make it part of our Santiago tradition to visit Ivar!

OMG!! I can see the queue now outside Ivar's office with all the forum Pilgrims waiting to give him a big kiss. We could be causing him a big headache you know. Hehehe!!

Really? 2 or 3 of us only visited Ivar? I know once I finish my Camino and visited El Apóstol I will certainly visit Ivar to shake his hand! I'm sure that he might have a log of all of the Forum members that visit him...

¡Buen Camino!

Yes,I was surprised too. He said Sillydoll,Johnny Walker and I think the other was Sagalouts-spelling might be a bit off, had visited him.
By the way...I'll pass on the kissing suggestion.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Careful - his face might get worn away, or all shiny!

The day I visited him he was showing me where he'd kept my parcel - sent from Lourdes - when I heard a voice asking for him in the front room. I recognized the voice as one of the pilgrims who had attended a a camino workshop in Durban a few months earlier. She couldn't believe that we had bumped into each other there. Then the door opened and in walked Sue Kenny! Hugs, screeches and more hugs! Poor Ivar was quite overwhelmed!
You might not always find him at the centre - I think Frank is helping out there most days?

I went to the Camino Travel Centre in June when I finished my Camino and met Ivar. He was very friendly and helpful and booked my bus ticket to Madrid and flight to the UK for me - I didn´t kiss him though

Ivar,

From all the above posts you sound like a most delightful guru, I'll certainly be visiting you late November,

Brenda

Thanks for all your compliments... Guru included.

If I said that only 2 or 3 of our forum members had stopped by, this is a bit on the low side. Re-thinking it, it must have been more. But with so many stopping by, it is sometimes difficult to know who is from the forum and how is not.

By the way, these days (since I am over at Xacobeo) Frank is working in the office, and doing a great job by the way.

Saludos,
Ivar
