Good horse.
Santiago (foaled 11 March 2017) is an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse. He showed some promise as a two-year-old in 2019, running second on his first two starts before taking a maiden race on his final appearance of the year. In 2020 he improved when moving up in distance to win the Queen's Vase and the Irish Derby.

well, it was pulled up this afternoon and me with a pound on its nose! I have however booked it for the Melbourne cup in November so there will be many prayers on its back ! I need a win for next year's Camino! :) I haven't bet on a horse for donkey' s years as that is what they turn into when they see me coming! :)

Buen Camino to my fellow pilgrim punters!

samarkand.

I've never had a formal bet on a horse but with that name, maybe I should start LOL.

My practice on Melbourne Cup day is to go out and buy a kilo of prawns instead of having a bet. That way I finish up a winner no matter which horse comes in. This year I might change the prawns to a kilo of scallops, complete with shells, to honour Santiago.

A coffee is $4
Try $2 each way ....you will get joy for a few minutes win or loose.
When I was a kid we sold pencils at the Cup , the O’Brien family employed all the Mics in Moonee Ponds / Essendon and their siblings at their venues.
They sold out to Spotless who run most venues now in Australia.
My Dad said on that day said to his then 10 yr old son.
”See those Mercedes in the car spot ......they belong to the bookmakers“
$4 spent ........no harm Donna.

Buy 1/2 , rest on the nag and if successful .....off to Doyles😇

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Santiago has been scratched. As that horse seems the only thing in the race with the slightest connection to the Camino, I'm closing the thread.
