Chemin le Puy (2015 hopefully)
Does any returning pilgrim from the Chemin Le Puy (2014) have a copy of Miam Miam DoDo that they'd be prepared to sell? I hope to walk the Le Puy route Sept 2015 and want to get prepared. Have already walked the Camino Frances and Via de la Plata.

If you don't find a used copy, I've always had good service from Amazon.fr. I do seem to get a bit of spam selling "le viagra" after each order though...

It is targeted marketing using information collected in your cookies!!! Delete all your cookies and visit a site selling appliances, and you probably will get ads related to refrigerators...;)

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Nah, If they went through my cookies I'd just be bombarded by products related to "le Velo" et chien terre neuf". It does seem that after every birthday I get notices of how to meet hot single babes my age though, so they probably just assume I want all the accessories for that.

It may be difficult buying a Miam-miam dodo in Le Puy in September. It's probably better if you take one along with you.
As for the spam that ends up in my mail box after ordering things online - I think I have had a sex change recently. Last year it was mainly penis enlargements that were suggested, now I am more often told to get implants for my breasts.

Your name AussieJan suggests you live in southern hemisphere and guide is difficult to obtain. Last September I saw the guide available for sale in different locations from Geneva to Le Puy and beyond, but I don't take notes so can't recall locations. I bought mine from amazon in advance. I didn't take Stanley knife to introductory pages but it was worth it's weight in gold for lodgings and illustrative map (?) of route. Ideal for me who prefers to ramble into town, village or wherever without reservation but prefers a roof over head each night. The route is well marked so if visibility is good you don't need compass or maps. So perhaps all you require is list of lodging in for stages. Depends on your planning. Enjoy.

Bon Chemin, Buen Camino!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Chemindecompostelle.com
is a good website. It has a selection of the accommodation in the Miam book. I think I ordered my Miam from the Confraternity of St James site.

AussieJan, if possible you are better off buying the 2015 edition so that you get the latest version. (It's surprising how many details can change from year to year.) I don't know if they 'run out' later in the season or not- but I bought my copy in 2012 from the bookshop in April in the sacristy at the rear of the Cathedral in Le Puy, where you can also get the church's version of the credential. (You can also get the Amis de St Jacques version of the credential if you go to the welcome they hold each evening not far from the Cathedral.)

I just checked the French site of Amazon and they have the 2014 version, but don't seem to be carrying the 2015 version yet. The 2015 version is showing up on the publisher's website.

Thanks my Kiwi friend - I also didn't know there was a welcome each evening near the cathedral in Le Puy.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

I know this reply is months after you postedyour enquiry, but I used bookfinder.com to get a copy of Miam miam dodo for the Le Puy route. At the time not many places had copies for the forthcoming year, but I got one from a bookshop I
in England. It's worth getting an up to date copy. We used to pull out the day's pages and stuff them in our pockets for easy reference.

Also check out Les Haltes Vers Compostela website for a list of gites that are members. They are voted in by pilgrims and always go the extra mile. The ones we stayed at were definitely superior to the run of mill places.

Good luck on your walk. I found the first fortnight very hilly and challenging and I got tired. Don't pass up oppotunity to have your pack carried if you are flagging, especially in the early days. And you will definitely need sticks. Stay at the monastery at Conques. Unmissable.

True, it can be quite tiring from LePuy to Conques, especially if you are not well prepared. But it is possible to walk shortish distances as there are quite a lot of places to stay. I don't see the need for sticks; there is a lot of up and down, but the walk is not difficult. And yes, do stay at the monastery of Conques!

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
I wouldn't have managed the descend into the gorge after St.Privat without my stick. Bon Chemin! SY

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
