May (2017)
I am looking at my first Camino Frances and could start mid October this year or early spring (start late mid-April) next year. I was planning to start in St. Jean. I recall seeing a link to a historical weather site for Spain but can't find the link now. Any good sources?

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Not sure of the link you mention. But weather.com gives you a year of weather history on its monthly tab. This link is for SJSPdP.

I've also used the history tab on wunderground.com. It doesn't seem to cover as many cities, but gives you many years of data. This link is for Orreaga (Roncevalles), which includes 20 years of data.

Then there's also the site for current temperature for all places along the Camino. See this link.

You are possibly thinking of this one: http://www.worldweatheronline.com/v2/weather-averages.aspx?q=SCQ , which can get you stats for all the places on the route. The main accuweather site can do it too if you poke around a bit.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Thanks Dougfitz. I was able to get some useful data from this site also.

Thanks Seabird and Rick M. I can use these sites to get the data.

Based on your proposed departure date and question, let me offer some unsolicited advice.

Be prepared for a couple of frosty mornings, you will get some early on. You won't need gloves, unless you like wearing them. Take a hat to keep the sun out of your eyes, as well as rain. An average morning will be 8 oC. Average mid day temperatures will be 15C early on, and warmer as you get closer to Santiago. Take a pair of shorts, although I only wore mine when my long pants were in the laundry. You will need a wind shell jacket, although some ponchos work for this too. Add that to a long sleeve merino and a mid weight fleece, and that's all the warm you will need. Practice and make friends with your rain gear solution before you go, because you will get rained on.

I would go in April again, but its not like Hawaii that time of year!

Thank you. I am actually soliciting advice since I will be a new at this.

I have created this widget with all the data you need per month / place with number of rainy days and number of sunny days :) It is based on national statistics.

I hope you and other pilgrims find this useful.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thank you. I tried it and it works except the month of May does not update. It stays on the last month selected.

Looks like a very useful tool! Thanks for creating it! Buen Camino, SY
