This is a nice clean Albergue. It is staffed by two Hospitalero's. This town does not have a restaurant but it does have a bar. So eating options are to bring your own food from Baamonde and cook or eat a sandwich at the bar. This was a fun night because we had and large group and drank a lot of wine.

Other options, there is a casarural in Brana. You have to walk another 5km's and they will come and pick you up. Then return you to that spot in the morning. There is another Casa rural in Roxica. It is 10-11 km's from Miraz. Finally you could walk from Baamonde to the monastery 41km's.

Information on these other options can be obtained in the Miraz Albergue.

I agree. My night at the Miraz albergue was one of the best on the CN. And Pilar's bar next door was a great gathering place. It was like "Cheers" (where everyone knows your name) since it was mostly populated by pilgrims from the albergue. However, the Patrimonio department of the Xunta is proposing to change the current route through Baamonde-Sobrado-Arzua. According to the CSJ Bulletin, March 2014, "The new route would completely miss both [the] refuge at Miraz and the monastery of Sobrado in favor of a new stage going directly to Santiago." In 2013 all along the route there were banners, flags and window posters displayed by the locals opposing this change . As yet, there is not a final decision.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

I thought I had this all figured out, but I have ended up with 2 train tickets from San Sebastian (I don't even know if it's the airport or the town) to Irun, instead of ONE that goes all the way...
