For lovers of music of the Camino the most beautiful CD available is -
Miracles of Santiago - a compilation of medieval chants and polyphony
of Saint James from the Codex Calixtinus. The mainly liturgical
music is hauntingly evocative of Mass attended on the camino. The CD
comes with a booklet with all the words of the different works in
Latin, English, French and German. The quartet of women singers - Anonymous 4 - were formed in 1986 to experiment with the sound of medieval chant and polyphony. They have performed to critical acclaim across America, Britain and Europe.
When I first listened to the CD it took me back to mass in the Cathedral and gave me goose bumps!
Available from Amazon but don't foget the apostrophe in Sant'iago when you search.
