Hi Nelsa , it will be no problem finding a pilgrim who will walk with you I think.
Wish you a wonderful time and a Buen Camino,Peter.

I will be two days behind you, but no worries as there will be plenty of Pilgrims to walk with.

We left SJPP on the same day last year. I would estimate that about 100 other pilgrims left the same day. This time of year, there is no chance whatsoever that you will be walking alone, unless you want to. Don't worry about meeting other pilgrims - its easy. All of you are far from home, mostly alone, and a little bit scared of attempting the same leap into the unknown. Opening conversations are easy since you are all doing the same thing. Pilgrims also stick out on the trail, and are easy to identify. Most people meet their first fellow pilgrim starting on the train back in Bayonne, but the main street in SJPP is full of pilgrims. There is a strong bond between pilgrims because of the shared experience. For the most part, you will find that your fellow travelers look out for each other.

Fear not. You are embarking on one of the best experiences you will ever have. Buen Camino.

Thanks Peter for your comment. My husband has been in bed for the last three weeks to gout flare up on his big toe ( really painful ) so very difficult to stand up or walk, and we think he is not fit enough at the moment. I just want him to get better and strong enough to come. Gracias
