My Prayer for the Pilgrim

Old friend...I...
Have grown weary.

The Stones in my heart have weighed me down terribly and wish that burden..taken from me
The Scars on my soul have slowed me down by stricture, by bind and number
The Tears make mud of the road before me, and I am grown weary...

Remember the days gone and left by the Way?
Light of step and eyes to look ahead?
What Geiss did I decide to marry...

Ohh my footsteps have grown heavy and my sight dims in the dying of the light
My candle in This darkness it seems is no match for this nite.

Will you set a lantern?

Will you light the River of Stars so that I may see the way once again? As when I was a child so I could find the way home.

Heavy weighs the darkness falling
But as surely as the Sun sets where you live..set the lantern of the Sun...and Candle of the Moon to guide me to your door

And may we embrace again in welcome as before.

Pilgrim on the way
Keep your eyes on the Way
No burden is to great..nor important enough to carry that you can't drop it..leave it along the Way.

Open up and let the scars heal
Leave those stones beside the trail
Remember who you are..and Can be
Santiago been waiting for you
Give him a hug at the door.

Be Blessed on the Way Pilgrim

I worry and pray for you guys out there on some far Horizon...
Ohh the, storys all the, combined bones could tell.

Worn out and dusty shoes
Sweat stains forgotten on some hat
A trusty old pack

And you guys..what more,could a soul need?

Ahh yes..
A trail to share between
I would see Santiago smile on every Pilgrim..

Someday..far away..old photographs passed between friends
A broken pair of shoes
A random scallop shell will vainly tell a pilgrims story.

What would you
What could you tell them?

Everyone dies. We wish those who die on the camino "Buen camino." They know that they are on the Way, so I think that the change from this world to the next may not be so shocking to them, as they continue their journeys. Perhaps those left behind find it harder to comprehend.
