I walked the Camino Portuguese from Porto this summer with my wife and 2-year old son. It was an incredible journey for all of us, and a nice return to the Camino for me after walking the Frances in 2012. I hope to put together a full length video of our walk in the future. Until then, here is a short video with some of the most memorable highlights.

I really liked the quality of the video picture, and the overall look and feel of that trailer. Nicely done :)

What equipment and video frame rate did you use for the 4k recording? It also looked like you had a good stabilizing system.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Thanks, Dave. I shot this with my Sony a7rii and a Zeiss Batis 18mm f/2.8 (I'm more of a photo guy). I used a Zhiyun crane v2 for the stabilized shots. I shot everything in 4k at 60fps so I could slow down the footage a bit and still export a 30fps video. The a7rii shoots 42mp still, so along with the 4k footage, I was burning through storage!

That looks amazing I will have to do that camino next time. I am going to do the camino Frances this September. Only 28 days to go.

Buen Camino! I loved the Frances and hope to return soon. With my son turning three next year, I think we'll opt for the Ingles next. He'll want to walk a lot more on his own, and the short distance of the Ingles will work well for that. Maybe in a few years, he can handle the longer Frances route.

Wow... that is quite a wonderful setup and the results sure reflect that. Of course, the guy behind the camera plays a wee bit of a role as well :)

Me, it's all I can do to just get a handle on the basics of operating a GoPro Hero 6. :)

You are definitely one nice family to do this things together. Brings tears (of happiness) to my eyes.

I wish you all the luck in the world!!!

PS (And of course congrats for the video from a film & TV director by profession)

Thank you! It was an incredible family experience, and so different from my solo Frances walk. The Camino has been such an incredible part of my life, and I couldn't wait for my son to grow up to share it with him. I'm glad he got to walk early, because he absolutely loved it and wants to go back. As his desire to walk on his own continues to grow, we're thinking the shorter Ingles route might be a good option.

Thanks, Dave...when walking the Coastal route in June, we came across a German couple with their 2 year old. Walked with them for a couple of days. Admired their stamina...enjoy your videos, and look forward to your next one!

Hi Dave, I'm looking to walk Porto to Santiago this May with my 19 mth old daughter. I will be solo so trying to do a little research about how manageable it will be with buggy. Were there stretches you had to carry the buggy or parts best skipped. Also did you stay in alberges? Many thanks
