Need adive about credentials

I am going to be walking the Camino this summer from Le Puy and need some information about credentials. I am planning on camping quite alot because of the distance I want to travel in the time frame I have. I want to have my credentials stamped but I most likely will not be staying in the the refugios often, I think I am planning of staying on refugios 25 to 30 of the 50 days I will be walking. I want to know if they will stamp my credentials for free? Or to I have to pay for the stamp, even though I wont be staying the night. Also do other people along the route stamp the credentials besides refugios?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hallo
Getting a stamp on your credencial is free. I have not been charged for it and I hope its not changed. You can get a stamp (sello) at a refugio, even if you are not staying. But be advised that the person incharge for the stamp at the refugios are not available full time. You can catch them at the evenings.

Churches along the way, cafes, bars , monasteries along the way also are willing to stamp your credential

Hope this helps

Regards

Some places ask for a donation but you'll find plenty along the route, so it is up to you which ones to use. If you stopped at every place you could get a stamp, you would probably find the that the weight of the "pilgrim passports" required would become an issue!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Tampons/Sellos

When I walked the Via Turonensis (from Paris) in 2004 there were only a few refuges along the way. We got stamps (tampons) at tourism offices, cathedrals, churches, police stations, the Mairie (municipal office) and even hotels and cafe bars.
You can do the same in Spain - collecting as many stamps per day as you like.
To have a look at some of the sellos on all the Spanish caminos go to:

Good luck with your walk,
