Hi friends:

I understand that Oloron-St Marie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WF-LkjFhoH8 is the last French town prior to crossing the Pyrenees en route to Somport, the begining of the Camino Aragones.

Does anyone know how I can get there FROM SPAIN?

Is there an albergue in Oloron?

Are there places (albergues?) in which to spend the night between Oloron-Somport? I've stayed at the albergue in Somport-no comments there...

How's the road from Oloron to Somport?

How many days are we talking about?

I would appreciate ANY info.

Bueno Camino,

Sil: Olorion-Somport

Thanks for your reply, Sil. The breakdown into three days is great. Do u know where I could find the first link you shared in either English or Spanish? Buen Camino, xm

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Can't find an English or Spanish alternative.

Try this site as well for some info - it opens to a mpa of the Via Tolosana from Puente La Reina - Jaca - Orolon.

Hope it helps!

Getting to Oloron Ste Marie

Where are you hoping to cross over from Spain to France?
There are two trains a day that go from Biarrits and Pau to Oloron.
Check out this website: (I put in a date a month from now just to check the timetable)

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Oloron - Somport

I just got an e-mail informing me that there are buses from Canfranc to Oloron.

So this may be the plan:

Madrid- Zaragoza (AVE).
Zaragoza-Jaca (bus). Stay at the (great) albergue there + get Credencial.
Next day: Jaca-Canfranc (bus).
Then connection to Oloron.

Buen Camino,

xm
