The Ministry of Public Works has already decided the future course of the A-12 highway between Santo Domingo de la Calzada and Burgos.
The selected route will be committing a triple attack. It will traverse a cultural World Heritage Site through the Sierra de Atapuerca. Environment protection would be respected.
It will run counter to the Camino de Santiago. Rioja interceptaría on the highway and many others will disappear.
Work on the motorway, which started in the stretch Riojano long before the publication of the Environmental Impact Statement, has already removed a section of Jacobean trail.
Finally, it would traverse a natural asset: the Montes de Oca. The route selected to cross over 13 kilometers. In this environment many endangered animals, plants and protected forests would be affected.
This highway is a priority for the high number of vehicles that pass daily through the N-120 and its high accident rate.
What we must not accept is to be built by the more aggressive route with natural and cultural assets in the area. There are options that would prevent this attack.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Yes, Sil. But, what can we do? The UNESCO has declared the Camino de Santiago as specially protected but our goverment don't think of it. The Burgos Association say nothing about. The Logroño associacion also says nothing about a new polygon between Viana and Logroño. Even when we call them to talk about it. It's really difficult to fight against all this attacks without the local Associations.

Buen Camino,

Javier, is this the red, sand road through the Montes above San Juan that passes the Civil war monument? I remember it had been graded in 2002 and in 2007 there was more felling of trees and widening of the road.

I think so.

I walked it last may.
