It's a shame My Camino will end before they open the New Albergue, in that my Spanish is nowhere near the level to understand what’s written in the information, I have a few questions:
1. I'd be interested to see how they've integrated the staff for peregrinos with intellectual disabilities and,
2. if they have folks on staff as hospitaleros that have intellectual disabilities.
3. Also, what training has the staff undertaken to better equip them to both integrate their folks and the peregrines with intellectual into the whole picture.
Before I leave for SJPDP, I will be making a DVD for US Sailing (I’m ExDir of a program that uses sailing as a form of therapeutic recreation for sailors with disabilities) in concert with the Neurophysical Department of the College of William and Mary (I’m Asst, Coach for their Sailing Team). This program will specifically be focused at training sailing instructors on the many nuances and adaptations they must make in their presentation and on water instruction skills to successfully introduce sailors with intellectual disabilities to the joy of sailing for recreation and competition should they desire to move in that direction.
Buen inclusive Camino,
Arn
