I have just read an article describing the creation of a new albergue in Igualada. The projected opening is to take place in 2022. This will be of interest to pilgrims planning to walk the Camino Ignaciano as well as those walking the Catalan Camino as it will accommodate considerably more pilgrims than the current pilgrims' albergue in the city of Igualada. The article is here. It can be translated into English if opened on Chrome although I think the link I have posted is already in English.

The Ignatian Camino recreates the 1522 pilgrimage of St Ignatius Loyola from Loyola to Manresa in Catalonia. I suppose this new build is anticipating a large number of pilgrims on the 500th anniversary of the event.

I walked through Igualada in 2013, heading to Santiago. A great town, first stop 32km after Montserrat.

The website is very helpful caminoignaciano.org/en/
