New Albergue in Najera (8 stage)

Time of past OR future Camino
Always on Camino!
Hey there!
We have just opened a new albergue "El Peregrino" in the beginning of our town Najera.
Fresh and new. Modern style. I'll post some photos here later :)

For now we have only bunk beds (20 in total), but later in this month there will be individual beds as well.

Full kitchen, spacious hall and bedrooms. Washer, dryer and coffee machine at your service!

See on map: https://goo.gl/maps/7VedK We are placed next to restaurant Sofia.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Great, I might stop by this year!

In general my opinion about how good or bad an albergue is, depends on the staff running it.
Being big and spacious, cool and clean with all possible facilities is great, but I guess not what most pilgrims value the most.
For me there's no substitute for a staff-member strolling along between the pilgrims, or joining them for a communal dinner.

My advise would be to show an interest in the guests you'll have. There's no better advertisement then pilgrims spreading the word how wonderful their experience in your alburgue was. I've slept in the most crappy of places imaginable and can still full hardily recommend some of them, and i've slept in the most luxurious ones were my advise would be "yeah.... well.... it's clean and big".

It must be hard to show any form of empathy after the gazillionth pilgrim stumbles in being overheated, with soar feet and the same story as everyone else. (volunteers that just work for a couple of weeks might help out there). If you can imagine that for a pilgrim the biggest treasure would be something like a free fresh beautiful peach and a friendly word, I'd say your on the right track.

Also hey.
Is it this (new/old) albergue? The sixth albergue on this page? "Nido de Cigüena"?
Buen Camino

Nido de Cigüena is our "old" albergue. It was opened in 2014.

El Peregrino is new and just opened on last week.

Also, MartinZ, you are right! Albergue is not only the beds. You will probably meet behind reception very friendly guy who will love to talk about camino and stuff. His name is Eduard and he is the owner :)
And yeah, we have noticed this weather isn't very comfortable to walk, so we hold some cold beer for every our guest at this days.

And, as I promised - several photos included here :)
Buen Camino, fellas.

Excellent! I was wondering if there would be enough beds in Najera, and it seemed as if another albergue would help. Best wishes - you're on my list:0).

For now it is only a part of our main site. You can find a short description and more photos at this link: http://alberguenajera.es/albergue-el-peregrino-najera/

O yes.
I have the Albergue Nido de Cigüeña on my home page.
Thank you for your great info.
