I've just received a copy of Alison Raju's new guidebook to the route, titled The Pilgrim Road to Trondheim and published by Museumsforlaget in Trondheim. Whereas Raju's earlier guide was published by Cicerone, this comes from a Norwegian publisher and boasts full color maps and up-to-date details on the routes between Oslo and Trondheim.

I used Raju's Cicerone guide when I walked the route in 2008 and have always found her route descriptions to be reliable, but I would have loved to have these maps with me. Sadly, she can't solve the biggest problem with this route--the crazy high cost of everything in Norway--but she has given English-speaking pilgrims with adequate savings a very useful new guidebook. It's most easily ordered through Amazon UK.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
