The Indian Ministry of Culture has identified about 2,000 places that the leader of nonviolent resistance, the "Mahatma" Gandhi visited in his tireless travel to promote the peaceful struggle for independence the India.
This kind of "Gandhian way" includes locations both in India and the current Bangladesh and Pakistan, As unknown as Aat village in the western Indian state of Gujarat, or the Zulifur in BiharIn the north.
"The sites have been identified after a tremendous research and collected details of several biographies and books on Gandhi," an official source told the PTI news agency .
The Gandhi World Heritage Committee, which began its work in April 2006 and is headed by a grandson of Gandhi, proposed that all these places are "protected" with the idea of safeguarding the memory of the "father of Indian country" so much for coming generations of his country and for tourists.
Gandhi was a key figure in the independence of the IndiaBorn in 1869 in the heart of a wealthy family, studied law in England and lived in South Africa before leading the nonviolent struggle for Indian independence British Empire obtained in 1947. He was killed by a radical Hindu in New Delhi
